Employee Engagement Campaign

The challenge

In 2024, the company's annual employee giving campaign needed a communications lead. The campaign had a late start — running on a compressed two month timeline compared to prior years. The prior year's lead wasn't available. It came to me.

Approach

  1. Built a multi-channel communications plan across email, Viva Engage, and meeting invites, designed to drive both awareness and participation.

  2. Set the goal as 100% functional participation — every employee either making a contribution or actively logging a 'no contribution' — so no one fell through the cracks.

  3. Co-produced the campaign's centerpiece virtual event with speakers, company campaign leaders, and a DJ running a live interactive game with prizes — designed to generate genuine excitement, not just inform.

  4. Drafted the majority of campaign content, managed approvals, and executed all sends across channels.

What I built

  • Full multi-channel communications plan and approval process

  • All campaign email content and Viva Engage posts

  • Meeting invites and event communications

  • Co-produced and co-hosted the virtual employee engagement event (~300 attendees)

At A Glance

Overview:

Led communications and co-hosted the centerpiece virtual event for an annual employee giving campaign — coming close to an ambitious fundraising target on a one-to-two month runway during a period of significant organizational change.

Outcome:

  • Strong fundraising result

  • ~300 virtual event attendance

  • Asked back the following year

Reflection:

The campaign came close to its fundraising target - a strong result given a compressed two month timeline. Participation across functions was strong, with employees actively engaging across all campaign channels and approximately 300 attending the virtual event.
